Who we are

The people behind RIST

The Research Institute for Skills Transfer (RIST) was imagined and created by Riccarda Zezza and Saideep Raj.

Together, they bring more than a decade of work on the skills people develop through the roles they live, alongside first-hand experience of the opportunities and challenges AI is creating for work.

They created RIST because too many real capabilities remain invisible simply because they were developed outside a job title or formal qualification. As AI reshapes work, making those skills visible and transferable matters more than ever.

Riccarda Zezza

Riccarda Zezza

Riccarda Zezza is the author of Transilience and the creator of the Transilience methodology: an approach to recognising the capabilities people develop through life’s roles and transitions.

After fifteen years working in large companies, she had seen first-hand how much human potential is wasted when people are seen only through job titles and formal qualifications. In 2013, her work began with MAAM — Maternity as a Master and has grown through more than a decade of applied work and research.

It starts from a simple conviction: caring, adapting, deciding, learning and taking responsibility are not interruptions to professional development. They are places where human capability is built.

Her central question remains: what becomes possible when people can recognise, articulate and use everything they have already learned across their lives?

Saideep Raj

Saideep Raj

Saideep is a technology industry veteran who is now working with companies to use AI to achieve measurable business results.

He sees AI as a powerful enabler of human potential. His work has reinforced his view that the human skills developed across work and everyday life, such as curiosity, judgment and learning through feedback, are increasingly central to using AI effectively.

He aims to help more people recognize these strengths and put them to use, making the opportunities AI creates more accessible.

Complementary capabilities. One shared purpose.

Riccarda brought a methodology developed through years of research and work with people. Saideep brought his experience of transformation, technology and the changing relationship between people and AI.

Together, they were able to imagine and create RIST: a scientific and social initiative designed to make more of human capability visible, usable and recognized.

Ricco is the tool that makes this work accessible. The person remains at the center of the story.
